The Seen & Heard Project
Everyone deserves a space to tell their story and to Be Seen and Heard.

Our Mission:
The Mission of the Seen and Heard Project is to empower youth and young adults to embrace holistic wellness by connecting them to accessible therapy, safe community spaces, mental health education, and other vital resources to foster true healing and support. We are dedicated to eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health issues within the Black and Brown community and creating safe spaces for growth and transformation. We desire all of the youth and young adults who join our community to Be Seen and Heard.
What We Do:
We Connect, Empower and Educate.
We connect Black and Latino youth with free or low-cost therapy sessions, mentoring and support groups, community resources, and education on mental health and social concerns. We partner with schools and organizations to eliminate barriers to care by providing low-cost therapy services and connecting these organizations to mental health education and resources. We empower youth and young adults by providing our comprehensive mental health training curriculum to schools to empower youth with solutions on how to handle and talk about mental health or social issues that plague our community. We aim to lessen the stigma surrounding mental health in the Black and Brown community, while offering services that are culturally relevant and relatable. We educate school staff, churches, and the community on signs and best practices for working with youth with mental health or social concerns. We are an organization committed to providing culturally relevant materials that youth of color can identify with and relate to.
Who We Serve:
Seen and Heard primarily serves Black and Latino youth and young adults ages 10-25. We provide therapy within our community and offer low cost or free individual or mentorship sessions to Black and Brown youth and young adults who may not have had previous access to mental health resources and therapy. We serve our community by educating vital youth serving organizations about mental health and providing partnership opportunities and resource information for those organizations.
